SEX and M.E.

“Not this year, darling. Remember I’ve got M.E.”

Big issue for lots of MEites and chronically ill folks… I found this link for you - great that someone is breaking the ice concerning the disability of ME/CFS and doing the most natural thing in the world.

Obviously lack of libido and energy, on top of feeling very ill or being in severe pain affects these things.  It takes a very special, unselfishly loving and compassionate partner to cope with this also, so it’s not perceived as sexual rejection.

Twenty odd years ago, as an in-love, newish Bride, about 12 months into my illness, wanting to have a family, I decided I would pluck up the courage to talk to my (flirty, tarty) new female GP about my lack of mojo rising.  Huge mistake.  I was told in no uncertain terms, very graphically, to pull myself together, buy myself some well kinky gear and jump my husbands bones when he got home from work - at least five times a week, or he would be quite within his rights to follow his male urges and go f*ck someone more willing!

Well, she made me feel like a total sexual failure and the upshot of this story is that even though I was willing, I was still a very sick girl. I was so upset by her comments, I never did dash out to the nearest seedy Lurvarama shop to buy myself a french maids outfit, clear heeled 8″ stiletto’s, a whip and matching balaclava, fluffy handcuffs or a years supply of faux strawberry cream.  No, I didn’t.  And yes, the now ex-husband did go f*ck someone more healthily mojo’d…quite a few of them in fact…probably including her! (I hope karma makes his **** drop off) :)

PS: That GP was a tart. She did my Dad!

The secret is communication from both partners…here is your link - very interesting, but if you’re looking for porn, don’t bother…

M.E. sex-life and those darn allergies!

It’s not just MEites who suffer with allergic reactions of course, but having M.E. seems to bring them out in all sorts of places! Tolerance changes as rapidly as the disease, even hourly!  It’s been noted by a few female sufferers, particularly the post menopausal low or non natural lubricating, that a lot of MEites can be allergic to lubrication products that they were fine with before…

Slippery subject.  If this is what you are experiencing, try and find something as natural as possible, like an Aloe Vera water based lube.  Water based don’t last nearly as long as the oil based ones, but are a little gentler on your delicate areas. Many of the lubes available contain a multitude of chemicals, so if you’re very sensitive or have an environmental allergy syndrome, watch out - your lube could be the culprit!

Wet Stuff® make an Aloe Vera water based balance gel. Check their website for ingredients list:  www.gelworks.com.au

If you know of a really good, hypoallergenic lube you would like to recommend, you can email the details to zarynity@yahoo.com for anonymous publishing on this page.  Or any articles on related sexy topics other MEites may find of help.
